Justin Saxton
Associate Attotney
Justin Saxton was born in Greensboro, NC, and raised in Charlotte, NC. He is a graduate of North Mecklenburg Highschool where he was a member of ROTC and played both the Junior Varsity and the Varsity football teams. While in high school, Justin noticed that he attended school with several students who came into contact with the court system.
While the majority of these students were involved with the Juvenile or Criminal court system, a number were also involved with Family Court and Civil Court. Due to these observations, Justin’s interest in the court system and the legal field grew.
He participated in the Young Explorers Program where he learned about the inner workings of the criminal justice system and the legal profession. This program provided Justin with an intimate view of the criminal justice system and solidified his decision to work in the legal field.
Justin is a recent graduate of Hampton University where he majored in Criminal Justice. Throughout his time at Hampton University, Justin was a member of the Criminal Justice Club and the North Carolina Pre-Alumni Council. While in these clubs, Justin participated in several forums discussing current criminal justice issues. He dedicated countless hours to volunteering at food drives and road cleanups.
While in undergrad, Justin interned with Court Camp, a program to teach youth about the criminal justice system. He also interned at a civil law firm where he gained perspective and insight into a different type of law. Although he enjoyed his experience at a civil firm, Justin realized that his true passion was still helping youth involved in the criminal system.
In pursuit of his goal to become an attorney he enrolled at Cleveland-Marshall School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. During his time in law school, he took classes focused in criminal law and participated in clinics involved in areas such as Pretrial Justice, Trial Advocacy, Pardons and Clemency, and Mock Trial.
When Justin is not in class, volunteering, or here in the office, he enjoys spending time with friends and family. He enjoys hiking with his dogs, playing video games, and watching sports.
